Advantages of Choosing Poly Cartage tanks
For over 30 years Enmach has manufactured poly products utilizing a rotational moulding process promising a durable, solid construction. Gemini Group explains the rotational mason process as; The rotational molding process is quite simple: A hollow mold is filled with powdered plastic resin. The mold begins rotating bi-axially and is transferred into an oven. The mold continues to rotate as the resin melts and coats the walls of the mold. The mold is cooled until the resin hardens into the desired shape. So therefore, there are no bolts used to hold the silo together, consequently giving the silo exceptional structural support.
Constant repairs are eliminated as there are no vulnerable joints, seams or weld lines that can weaken overtime. Poly is better able to resist wear and tear.
Impact resistance: Polyethylene absorbs shock and bounces back into shape without breaking – it is a very forgiving material. Making it durable and robust.
Chemical resistant: Top Quality LLDPE (linear low-density polyethylene) is impervious to most chemicals. Cartage and transport tanks made of LLDPE can transport both water and chemicals like liquid fertilisers. LLDPE is also available in a diesel grade material. Braskem tells us that Due to its non-polar nature, the polyethylene resins (PEs) have an exceptionally high resistance to chemicals and other media. It is not affected by aqueous solutions of salts, acids and alkalis. Up to 600C, PEs are resistant to many solvents.
Tensile strength: This is the maximum load that a material can support without fracture when being stretched, forced or pressured. Polyethylene has a high tensile strength. Therefore, you can be restful your poly cartage tank wont give way to the pressure of its load.
Longer Lifespan: UV protection and rust resistant. We know that the nature of the harsh Australian outback conditions can be unforgiving. The Polyethylene that is used to manufacture Enmachs quality poly cartage tanks is UV-stabilised to prevent the sun from damaging or degrading the material over time. In addition to this, polyethylene is 100% rust resistant.
With over 35+ years of industry experience we can prove that the above traits make poly storage tanks last long.
Lightweight: Poly cartage tanks are easier to position and transport because of their lighter weight. Making them ideal for farm setups where that need to remove their cartage tanks from trucks for other usages around the property.
Fully Customisable: Due to the thick polyethylene tank wall structure, position, quantity & sizing of outlets is completely customisable depending on your requirements. Whilst opaque is our standard colour, the Multi Trans is available in a range of different colours including blue, grey, black, red, orange & yellow, to match your vehicle colour or branding.
Shorter Leadtime’s: Raw materials for rotational moulding are relatively less expensive and more accessible making lead-times much shorter which therefore contributing to affordability. The moulds used to make the cartage tanks are also affordable making the construction of multiple moulds possible. Therefore, multiple cartage tanks can be manufactured at the one time making productions times and costs lower compared to other tanks available on the market.
Environmentally Friendly: Polyethylene is 100% recyclable. A&C Plastics Inc tells us that Polyethylene is one of the safest forms of plastic, making it a great option for both reuse and recycling. HDPE is found in milk jugs, detergent bottles, toys and much more, thanks to its resistance to extreme temperatures, weather and abrasions. It can be recycled into truck beds, park benches and picnic tables. Also, here at Enmach we recycle waste poly material into other poly products.
Food-grade: Polyethylene is a proven food-grade plastic; it repels microorganisms and doesn’t corrode, making it an overall ideal material for food and beverage contact and storage.
Low maintenance: Poly transport tanks are seamless and flexible meaning they are less prone to damage and done require a lot of repairs. They also done have bolts holding them together that need to be replaced or maintained. Poly cartage tanks are also extremely easy to clean
Disadvantages of Choosing Poly
High Fire Rise: Polyethylene could easily get damaged during a fire just like any vehicle it is mounted on or towed behind.
Needs a professional plastic welder when damages: Although the likelihood is low for a well-designed and well-made poly cartage tank to break or get cracked, they do need a professional poly welder to repair them when they do. I guess there is also an advantage in this that yes, they can be repaired with a poly welder. In addition, also the time and cost of repairing the tank is very minimal with poly welding.
Conclusion
The decision is yours! As stated above the polyethylene cartage tanks have some great advantages its really a matter of preference and your individual requirements.
You may ask yourself these questions as a guide to making your final cartage tank decision:
- How much money am I comfortable on spending on a cartage tank?
- How much time and money and effort and I prepared to spend on repairs?
- Do I want a reliable long-lasting product?
- What size cartage tank do I need?
- Is customisation important?
Enmach cares about the needs of agriculture and makes sure to manufacture transport tanks that will be a real asset to you for the years to come. The Multi Trans 7000 is a beauty, and we promise it will revolutionise the way you operate in your daily tasks.
